The Benefits Of Using A Blog For Medical Practice Promotion

Posted by admin . Filed under Blogs and Blogging | No Comments

There are already many medical websites online, and these sites are commonly used for medical practice promotion. Physicians know that since almost everyone has heard of the internet, having a website would allow them to be able to target a new group of people to become their clients.

One of the ways that doctors can take advantage of the internet, aside from having a fully fledged website, would be to use blogs or to put a section for blogs in their website. Blogs, a contraction of the term “web logs,” are one of the easiest ways for you to have an online presence without the need for coming up with all the bells and whistles of a website.

So how exactly can a blog help in your promotions? Well, here are some of the reasons why blogs can give you many benefits:

Quick and Easy to set up

A blog is relatively easier to set up than a whole website. You don’t even need to become tech savvy to be able to do so, as the instructions for these sites are usually quite easy to understand and follow even for the novices.
Another great fact about blogs is that they are usually cheaper. There are plenty of free blog hosts and platforms that one can utilize to put up blog content in his or her website.

A more personal tone

In contrast to the usual content of medical websites such as services provided, list of doctors, appointment schedules, location and the like, a blog has a more personal tone. The writer of the blog tends to speak more to the audience directly.
A good characteristic of this more personal tone is that it is able to help in fostering a community. Having this kind of writing is similar to being the neighborhood doctor where everyone can just approach and talk. This community could then be tapped for potential clients, thereby increasing revenue.

Can play to the short attention span of people, especially online visitors

There are plenty of studies that have shown how people who visit online web pages only spend a very short amount of time reading the content inside a website. This time on page is even shorter if the content is something that they are not particularly interested in.
Having a blog combats this since blogs are usually short, sweet, and straight to the point. The blog section of your website could help in giving you quick hitters, or small points that you may want to get across to your readers.

Easier to share with others:

A good point with blogs nowadays is that they can be easily integrated into a plethora of other sites. You could share the content of your blog with social networking sites, throw snippets of it in “microblogging” sites, or even add them to completely new websites.

With the benefits of blogging mentioned above, the physician can have a great tool to use in medical practice promotion and communication.
